Spar mine cave by the fjord

Just a 10 minute drive from Mjóeyri Cottages, you can visit an abandoned spar mine located along the fjord. Feel like a true explorer and wander around its tunnels. Once a bustling site for extracting Icelandic spar, a rare valuable crystal, the cave now provdes a glimpse into the region’s industrial past. Mjóifjörður

Be ready for an adventure and a bumpy ride, and don’t forget to stop and admire the Klifbrekkufossar Waterfalls. It’s a detour worth taking for those seeking something unique. Visit Stuðlagil Canyon
